ECONOMIC ASPECTS OF AGREED UPON PROCEDURES IN MANAGING CURRENT ASSETS
The rapid development of technologies, increasing regulatory control, the growing number of IPOs, and other factors contribute to the steady rise in demand for audit services. Depending on the type, audit services are designed to provide assurance regarding financial data, assess the targeted use of resources, analyze the internal control system, and more. Specifically, the results of performing certain types of audit services, such as agreed-upon procedures (AUP), provide a foundation for the development and implementation of solutions aimed at enhancing the efficiency of enterprise resource management.
The article explores the significance of AUP in enhancing the efficiency of current assets management within an enterprise. A comparative analysis of audit services, such as audit of financial statements and the tasks involving AUP, is carried out, highlighting both their similarities and differences. The economic aspects of applying AUP are emphasized, highlighting their advantages, including flexibility, cost-effectiveness, and the ability to perform tasks at any point throughout the year.
Within the scope of AUP for inventory and receivables, a comprehensive analysis is conducted, including the verification of their age structure, accuracy of accounting data, and assessment of the collectability of debts. The study examines specific examples of how AUP can be applied to evaluate the effectiveness of inventory and receivables management. These examples enable enterprises to obtain objective insights, facilitating well-informed and effective management decisions. Theoretical approaches and practical recommendations are proposed to address potential issues identified during the implementation of AUP. The results of the study indicate that AUP serve not only a control function but also a strategic one, as they contribute to optimizing resource utilization, reducing risks, and improving the financial stability of the enterprise.
