DIGITAL TRANSITION AS A DRIVER OF BUSINESS MODEL TRANSFORMATION: CONCEPT AND IMPLEMENTATION PATHWAYS
This article examines the digital transformation of business models in the context of the digital transition, particularly within the Ukrainian framework. It analyzes key approaches and tools for digital transformation that enable companies to adapt their strategies and operational models to the challenges of the digital economy. As digital technologies change the ways of creating value, interacting with customers, and internal business processes, enterprises face the need to modernize their business models to maintain competitiveness and efficiency in the market.
Special attention is given to the adaptation of the Business Model Canvas, proposed by A. Osterwalder and I. Pigneur, to the conditions of the Ukrainian market. This tool, widely used in global practice, allows for a structured approach to building business models and evaluating the impact of digital technologies on their core components. The aim of the article is to explore the potential use of this tool for adapting Ukrainian enterprises to the new demands of the digital economy. The article discusses in detail the components of the adapted Business Model Canvas, taking into account the specifics of the Ukrainian market, including support for local producers, emphasis on social responsibility, and increased focus on cybersecurity.
Based on the analysis, the digital transformation requires a comprehensive approach that includes three main paths: the integration of digital operations, the restructuring of the value proposition, and the comprehensive transformation of business. At the same time, during the adaptation process, companies encounter various barriers, including socio-cultural and psychological factors, which may limit employees' readiness for change. The impact of external factors, such as economic, political, and regulatory conditions, is also crucial, requiring the development of tailored strategies for effective transformation.
As a result of the study, recommendations are made for the use of the adapted Business Model Canvas for Ukrainian enterprises, which will help them better integrate digital technologies into their strategies and business processes. The identified critical factors for successful adaptation and transformation provide practical recommendations for businesses of various sizes, particularly small and medium enterprises, in implementing digital solutions and supporting sustainable development in the face of continuous change.
